Red Light District

So I have been using my Haul quite a bit in the city and I'm still loving it.
I started with customizing the bike and I think I'm half way.......
as you can see I have a new bell, new gold bolds, colored spacers, a mint green saddle and new pedals.

As a local there's no reason to go the red light district in Amsterdam besides if you want to go for a nice dinner.
I was a bit worried with leaving a nice bike like this on the street.
My worries is not about the bike getting stolen ( i have good locks) but more the quick release on the front. I was lucky that night. My bike was still there with the front wheel.

More pictures will follow soon of the customization of my Haul.

Haul 2 ready ?!

I walked in my store yesterday and the first thing I see in the middle of the shop is my Haul.
The brown beauty was waiting for me......
I Looked at it from every angle to see if I succeeded in customizing the bike. I'm still not happy and need a few more parts but it was good enough to take it on the streets.
I drove around for about 30 minutes and I must say I'm really impressed about the driving skills of that bike. I have quite a few bikes but this is by far the best "city bike" I have. Changing gears goes as smooth as on my mountain bike and it's really fast as well, or was the wind helping me.
I'm off to a bike store now to look for the right grips........

ido is back.....

........but my bike is still in the box.
I told Specialized that they can sent the bike directly to me because I have a bike mechanic in the shop who will put it together. I know this guy for more than 10 years and he's never been sick. I went straight from the aiport to the shop to pick up the bike and guess what, it was untouched !
I was so disappointed that I started working on it my self. I'm pretty ok with bikes but I need his help with the disc brakes and the gears. As it look now I'll be riding on Monday if I have decided on the grips......

Late arrival....

hey,

my bike arrived last week but I didn't......
I'm traveling like crazy and only spent one day in my home town before I had to go to Japan.
The good news is that I opened the box and saw a beauty.

I'm kind a strange guy that I always want to customize things as soon as I buy them.
Japan is the perfect place for buying bike parts so as soon as I'm back next week I'll put the Haul 2 together and start making it my own.

I'm on the hunt today for nice parts to make the bike ido's haul.
